Our EVSer Alice Iosin is in YMCA Bournemouth since September 2018. She has been spending an amazing time since the begining of her adventure. She had the opportunity to work with a lot of young people with a range of abilities and support needs from the ages between 7-19. Apart of the projects that Alice was involved, she took part in different activities for younger children like running and arts and crafts at an open acess youth project. Also, she was supporting a group of young people who are skilled in sound and lighting at many youth music gigs in the town center.
At the moment, she is leading the recruitment of a new group of European Volunteers who will start with YMCA Bournemouth in September 2019 – ” which I’m very proud of” . In this role, she needs to communicate with the applicants, schedule the interviews and support younger people that are assisting her with the interviews.
Alice is living with 7 other volunteers and together they “make a good team”. EVS is more than doing volunteering. It´s an opportunity of meeting different people with different customs and we can be “ a variety of cultures and it’s amazing to see how different but similar we are”. On her freet time she loves to spend a good moment at the beach, in the city and travel trough the country.
