Last Friday (the 26th of March) international and local volunteers from Baia Mare got together to clean Lake Firiza. This was the first of the many cleaning actions that will follow in the YMCA’s Green Club. It’s very important to protect these green spaces that are so precious for the community, as well as the water it holds. In this morning, we collected numerous bags of waste that the people who go to lake Firiza leave behind. It’s important to keep these places clean to increase awareness about the importance of this. When you see a clean space, it’s harder to leave your trash behind!

After the cleaning action the volunteers visited the dam with the supervisor who work in this place. They provided information about this place and about the importance of the water it holds. Its was sunny and the volunteers had a great time learning while enjoying a beautiful view.
